Gwynt y Môr Windfarm: export cable work due to start in July

Work on the installation of the export power cable for the Gwynt y Môr windfarm is due to start at Pensarn beach in July 2012.  A Notice to Mariners has been published by RWE npower renewables and is available for download here.

The cable installation barge Cable Enterprise will be installing the export cables.  This vessel will be supported by the vessels Fairplay 27, MCS Ailsa and Whalsa Lass.

Prior to cable installation there will be a Pre Lay Grapnel Route Survey carried out by MCS Ailsa along the cable installation routes.

All vessels operating in the area are requested to keep at least 1000m clear of the cable installation barge at all times when on location, and 500m clear of the MCS Ailsa during the PLGR survey.
