This is a summary of the weekly notice of operations for the Gwynt y Môr Wind Farm issued on 16th July 2012 to harbour masters and sea users. This notice describes recent operations, work planned for the next 7 days, and provides a list of vessels operating on the site with their contact details.
Work carried out over past 7 days
The following work has been carried out in the past week:
- Penrhos Bay and Malltraeth Bay have been used as a CTV / Stand by vessel when required, running out of Conwy Marina or Deganwy.
- Choice has been on guard vessel duties (see Notice to Mariners 13 here).
- MCS Ailsa continued Pre Cable Lay Grapnel Route Survey (see Notice to Mariners 14 here).
- Cable barge Cable Enterprise and support vessels Fairplay 27 and Whalsa Lass have been at sea to the SW of the windfarm area carrying out pre-lay preparations.
- DP Vessel Sentinel arrived at base harbour Birkenhead and commenced mobilisation for site clearance operations at the windfarm.
- CPT Barge arrived and completed operations in Birkenhead Wet Basin.
- Baltic Sailor discharged Transition Piece platforms at Birkenhead.
Work planned for next 7 days
The work planned for the next 7 days on the site is:
- Penhros Bay and Malltraeth Bay will continue to be utilised as Crew Transfer / Stand by vessel, running out of Conwy Marina or Deganwy.
- Choice will remain on station as guard vessel, next visit to Birkenhead for re-supply on 19th July.
- MCS Ailsa will continue Pre Cable Lay Grapnel Route Survey (see Notice to Mariners 14 here).
- Cable barge Cable Enterprise and support vessels Fairplay 27, Whalsa Lass will continue with pre-lay operations.
- DP Vessel Sentinel will commence site clearance operations in the windfarm area (see Notice to Mariners 16 here).
- Continued deliveries of foundation components at Birkenhead.
- Component barges and tugs will arrive at Birkenhead in readiness for foundation installation campaign.

All vessels will monitor VHF Channel 16.
Port Arrivals
The planned port arrivals over the next 7 days are:-
- Cammel Laird Birkenhead/Port of Liverpool.
- MV Marlene expected on 16th July 2012
- MV Bente expected on 18th July 2012
- MV Joerge N expected on 5th July 2012
- Component barges and tugs expected 18th or 19th July 2012.
- Guard vessel Choice expected 19th July 2012, departure 20th July 2012.
- Mostyn.

- Conwy / Deganwy
- Penrhos Bay & Malltraeth Bay standing by in port when not utilised.
