A new marine mammal observation vessel is currently operating in the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm, and some service work is scheduled for the FLIDAR buoy at the wind farm in the next few days. These activities are briefly summarised below.
Temporary Marine Mammal Observation Vessel
Please be advised that the vessel Fleur de Lys of Hamble will be acting as temporary marine mammal observation vessel for the Gwynt y Môr Offshore windfarm. Removal of FLIDAR Buoy
The FLIDAR buoy located in the vicinity of the Gwynt y Môr meteorological mast is due to be recovered for maintenance on the 14th January 2013 and reinstated on the 17th / 18th January 2013 (dates all weather dependent). Some information about the FLIDAR buoy is given in the Notice to Mariners Number 21 issued in September 2012, and available for download here.
The buoy will be recovered and redeployed by the vessel Whalsa Lass. Contact information for this vessel, including a link to the MarineTraffic.com website are given below.
