Mariners are advised that the cardinal marker buoys around the Gwynt y Môr wind farm are due to be removed on or around 25th April 2015 by the Trinity House Vessel THV Galatea. A notice to mariners describing this activity can be downloaded here and is summarised below.
The THV Galatea is due to remove the 8 Gwynt y Môr field cardinal permiter buoys. At the same time the Gwynt y Môr South buoy will be moved to a new permanent position.
After recovery of these buoys, the wind farm will exhibit permanent adis to navigation, which are detailed in an attachment to the notice to mariners that can be downloaded here. The UK Hydrographic Office will update the British Admiralty charts for the area. In the interim, UKHO will issue a preliminary notice to mariners.

All vessel traffic is asked to keep at least 500m clear of THV Galatea when it is engaged in operations. The vessel can be contacted on VHF Channel 16 at all times.
