Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm: Update on Additional Maintenance Operations, October 2024

Mariners are advised of a change to the maintenance operations that the jack up vessel MPI Resolution will be carrying out within the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm off the North Wales coast during October 2024.  A Notice to Mariners about this operation is summarised below and can be downloaded here.

Maintenance operations

The jack up vessel MPI Resolution is now due to be carrying out maintenance operations in the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm at two turbines.  The locations of these turbines is given below:-

  • D02R: 53° 28.414’N 003° 37.632’W
  • J15G: 53° 26.773’N 003° 31.287’W

The start date for this work is expected to be the 9th of October 2024 with an expected duration of 1 day at each turbine.  The work is due to be completed by 14th of October 2024.  These dates are subject to weather and sea conditions.

Vessel details

MPI Resolution is a jack up vessel measuring 13m in length by 38m in width, coloured blue and white.  The vessel details and a link to its present location are given below:-

When at the specified location the vessel will be restricted in the ability to manoeuvre and will exhibit signals in accordance with the UK Standard Marking Schedule for Offshore Installations.

Other vessels are asked to give MPI Resolution a 500m wide berth at all times and to gain permission from the vessel before approaching within the 500m zone.
