A new notice to mariners has been issued advising that the survey work previously announced in September 2013 is now due to commence on 4th October 2013.  The vessel Ocean Dragon will be carrying out this survey.  The notice to mariners can be downloaded here and is summarised below.

Geophysical Survey in Liverpool Bay

A detailed geophysical (sonar) survey is due to be carried out on the nearshore section of the cable route in Liverpool Bay.  The survey was scheduled to begin during September, and is now expected to commence on 4th October 2013 (subject to weather conditions).

The survey work is due to be carried out using the vessel MTV Ocean Dragon.  Information about the vessel can be downloaded here.  During the survey work the vessel may be deploying underwater survey equipment and have restricted ability to manoeuvre.  Vessels are requested to pass at a safe distance.

The call sign for the MTV Ocean Dragon and a link to the vessel’s current location from MarineTraffic.com are given below:-

The vessel will monitor VHF Channel 16 at all times.

Further information is given in the Notice to Mariners that can be downloaded here.
