This is a summary of the weekly notice of operations for the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm issued on 26th April 2015 to harbour masters and sea users. This notice describes progress with construction, recent operations, work planned for the next 7 days, and provides a list of vessels operating on the site with their contact details.
Wind Farm Construction Status
Windfarm construction is complete. There is still regular vessel activity on the site.
Notices to Mariners
There is currently one Notice to Mariners in force for the windfarm site:-
- Cardinal Buoy Removal – on or around the 25th April 2015 the THV Galatea is expected on site to recover the 8 cardinal marker buoys and to reposition the GyM South Buoy. The Notice to Mariners about this work is available for download here.
Work carried out over past 7 days
The following work has been carried out in the past week:
- Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) continued to operate from both Canada Dock Liverpool and Port of Mostyn to transfer technicians as required on a daily basis to / from the windfarm (weather permitting).
- 24 hour Emergency Response (ERT) cover infield continues with 2 CTVs operating from Canada Dock Liverpool (weather permitting). A 3rd ERT team is covering night shift operations as and when required from the Port of Mostyn.
- Channel Chieftain VII and Cwind Resolution continued generator refueling operations on site based from Mostyn.
- Trinity House Vessel (THV) Galatea was on site to recover the 8 x cardinal demarcation buoys and re-position the GyM South Buoy approximately 15m to the SW (see notice to mariners here).
Work planned for next 7 days
The work planned for the next 7 days on the site is:
- CTVs from both Liverpool and Port of Mostyn will continue to operate as required on a daily basis to & from the wind farm.
- ERT cover will continue with 2 teams, 1 team operating from the Port of Mostyn and the 2nd team operating from Liverpool. A 3rd ERT can cover nightshift operations as and when required by the Port of Mostyn.
- Channel Chieftain VII and Cwind Resolution will continue generator refueling operations on site based from Mostyn.
