Mariners are reminded that maintenance work is continuing on one of the export cables from the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm close to the shore near to Abergele in North Wales. A Notice to Mariners for this work can be downloaded here and is summarised below.
Nature of Operations
The repair operations is being carried out by the jack up barges Haven Seariser and Haven Seaseven. The barges will be stationary during the repair operations and will be supported by several other vessels. The barges will be located close to the repair location:-
- Repair location: 053° 18.1588’N 003° 34.4364’W
The Haven Seaseven was positioned on the 2nd of August and the Haven Seariser 4 is due to be positioned on the 10th of August. These vessels are scheduled to remain on site for up to 10 days. The support vessel Green Isle is due to remain on site until the end of August / early September. These dates are subject to weather and sea conditions.

All vessels will display the prescribed lights and signals for operations and will monitor VHF Channel 12 & 16 at all times.
Other vessels are requested to pass at a safe speed and maintain a wide berth of at least 500m distance and to be aware of the 3 moorings and wires that run from them to the vessel.

In addtion to the works at sea, an onshore beach compound will be set up for the duration of the repair. This area will be partly fenced off and security will be on site to ensure the safety of the general public.
