Gwynt y Môr Windfarm: Weekly Notice of Operations, 17th May 2012

This is a summary of the weekly notice of operations for the Gwynt y Môr Wind Farm issued on 18th May 2012 to harbour masters and sea users .  This notice describes recent operations, work planned for the next 7 days, and provides a list of vessels operating on the site with their contact details.

Work carried out over past 7 days

The following work has been carried out in the past week:

  • Freja has been carrying out survey work on the export cable route (see our earlier update here).
  • Penrhos Bay has been used as a CTV / Stand by vessel, running out of Conwy Marina.  She will stand by during jacket installation duties (see the Notice to Mariners 10 here).
  • Choice departed Lowestoft en-route to GyM site to commence guard vessel duties (see Notice to Mariners 13 here).
  • Stanislav Yudin completed work on the installation of Substation East Jacket and has moved to the location of the western substation
  • Anglian Monarch has been providing support for Stanislav Yudin.
  • Anglian Earl has been providing support for Stanislav Yudin.
  • Bremen Fighter has been on location with barge UR 108 carrying the OSP West Jacket, waiting for Stanislav Yudin to relocate.

Work planned for next 7 days

The work planned for the next 7 days on the site is:

  • Freja will be carrying out survey work on the export cable route (see earlier update here).
  • Penhros Bay will be utilised as Crew Transfer / Stand by vessel, running out of Conwy Marina. To stand by during Jacket installation duties.
  • Stanislav Yudin jacket installation work continues and will move to the OSP West site.
  • Anglian Monarch and Anglian Earl will stand by and provide support to Stanislav Yudin.
  • Choice is expected to arrive on station at on 19th May 2012 (weather dependent), and to commence guard vessel duties in-field (see Notice to Mariners 13 here).

  • Anglian Monarch: support vessel for Stanislav Yudin | Call sign MYFR6.
  • Anglian Earl: support vessel for Stanislav Yudin | Call sign 8PRA.
  • Bremen Fighter: Tug for Delivery Barge | Call sign V20Y1.
  • Choice: Marine Mammal Observation Vessel / Guard Vessel.

Port Arrivals

The planned port arrivals over the next 7 days are:-

  • Cammel Laird Birkenhead/Port of Liverpool.
    MV Marlene arrived 17th May 2012 delivering transition pieces and monopiles
    MV Joerg N is expected in Birkenhead on 21st May 2012
    MV Bente is expected in Birkenhead on 22nd May 2012 (depending on the progress of the Joerg N)
  • Mostyn.
    None planned
